What is wrong with Roger Federer?

Ok, cut the ****. You dont just go from best player who ever lived to an average tennis player. Federer is playing like an average tennis player right now. Im not a Federer fan, but besides the Mono he had, what the h**l is wrong with him?

The person above me doesn't know what they are talking about, Sampras between 1990 and 2002 won 14 grand slams. Is that short lived? Federer won't retire untill he is top again, you heard it hear first.

And people get so mad on yahoo answers whenever you bring up the fact that his time on top is done. I'm sorry fed ex but it happens to all the greats. No one can stay on top forever. You had a great run, but its clear Nadal is the best. He is simply out of his prime, no other reason.

don't be cruel to the man, he has been going through the most difficult times in his career and maybe himself doesn't know what to do.

James Blake played very well and he deserves to win....maybe Roger needs a very good coach to take him out of this ordeal and strengthen his mental factor and kill off his weakness points in his game.

I am sure he is gutted but this is what a sport all about....He used to beat his opponents so many times and maybe now it's their turn to do the same.

sometimes you can't change the fate, maybe he needs to improve his passing shots and his first service which caused him the match today.

I am very angry and sad but I know it's out of his hand and he tried his best to win but sometimes when you find your opponent plays like a monster you can't do anything.

I am sure once he wins a big title he will restore his self-confidence and he will come back strong like before.

the same thing that happened to justine and sampras, they just get bored with winning all the time and don't need the money as they have more than they can spend and the competition is just not that exciting so they mentally lack interest or desire and lets face it tennis is a short lived sport anyway and a tiring life style, so I suspect he will leave soon like justine henin did, lets face it tennis is a dieing sport ruined by the likes of the williams////

Well if anyone has heard the latest, apparently Roger has been playing some OUTSTANDING tennis in the doubles.  I realize Warinka is out there with him, but the Bryan's said he was absolutely on fire with his entire game......who knows maybe he found it again!!!!  I hope he finds it, I enjoy watching him play his high style of tennis.

I don't want to make the mother of all excuses, but Mono can often lead to Chronic Fatigue. If Fed ends up with that, his career is over. Hopefully it's just his confidence taking a hit after his shaky year.  It's a long way to fall when you're untouchable.   He needs some decent wins under his belt and to stop putting an ungodly amount of pressure on himself chasing those records.
