What is wrong with a 4 day work week, $ days at 10 hrs per day compaired to 5 days at 8 hrs??????

4 day work week saves gas, dose not decrease your salary, gives more free time to be with family etc... I worked that schedule for a couple of years and sure enjoyed it.............

a lot of companies do it..nothing wrong at all....but you cant do it with service business'....because the people that are off on that 3rd day want stuff...now heres one for you...do you want Friday off or Monday?..whats the difference?

It's a more productive work schedule that has a lot of plus points, it can get tricky handling absentee problems. I had a small manufacturing concern that we worked it for awhile, we had enough employees that if we needed to work the fifth day we could overlap schedules. If we needed everyone we paid overtime on the fifth day as long as the person actually worked four ten hour days. It helped us stay on schedule for product shipments and was great for moral. It was a long day for me as I always liked to be there before the shift started and was always a couple hours finishing up so it stretched my day out pretty long but I as well enjoyed a few Fridays of golf and weekends with the family. It had a cost savings effect on our utilities as well.

It works great, depending on how many employees one has. Some of the companies I'm familiar with have done this and its working fine. Some of them have Mon. off and others have Fri. off. It just means on those 2 days there are less people working, but if it gets really busy, they can call someone in and pay overtime. Everyone seems really happy about this new schedule. It also works in favor of the customers., since these companies have extended hours.
