What is wrong with a high number on an odometer?

Why do people want to get as little of a number on an odometer and dont want to get a high one?

Because that means a car is nearing the end of it's expected life.

If cars lasted forever it wouldn't be a problem, but things wear out and break. So to have a car with few miles gives the owner peace of mind that this vehicle will last them a while.

Same reason women want a man with a low number. He's not worn out yet.
