What is wrong with elder nursing home services and home health care for the aged?

HHH services I would not recommend to my worst enemy!!! The workers in HHH and Hebrew Home are very rude and nasty. They treat their patients like they were in jail, keeping them in their rooms all day long under potent medications to sedate the patients. In both, the Hebrew Home and the home health program they abuse and neglect their patients, keeping them smelly, and poor hygiene--soiled clothing, dirty diapers, etc. The home health aides are irresponsible, some clock in by telephone and leave. They come to the patients' homes and in most cases do not even know their jobs properly. They don't cook, they don't clean properly, some come with a nasty attitude because they get paid very, very puny salaries. They sit their fat butts down and watch tv. Moreover, one problem after another including sloppy carelessness and lack of supervision on behalf of the employers and supervisors who run the home health agency and nursing home. Who hires these people? Why are they still in business?

Good Post!  I love everything about business, escpecially the marketing and advertising parts.  These things make or break a business.  I've found many ways to advertise my business that might help you.  If you have a website, try SEO and PPC (pay per click from Google Adwords).

If you advertise your business offline, try handing out flyers, printing coupons, and yellowpage advertising).

The best method I've found yet is to buy business cards and hand them out everwhere.  I buy them from a place online that gives the cards for free and only charges for shipping and handling.  I hand these out to everyone I meet, and I leave them on cars where ever I go (I also got a free business card holder that looks really impressive)!

Talk to the Better Business Bureau and get information about the State licensing authority and compliance inspector system for that industry.  Maybe the inspectors are being paid-off or are as bad as the workers.

You answered your own question. They are paid very, very puny salaries. You generally get what you pay for. They are hired by people trying to make as much money as possible by paying as little as possible. You know. Normal business people. Why are they still in business? Because they have lower rates, which that can do by paying very low salaries. This is standard capitalism at work.
