  1. I get called emo at school just for being myself, wearing odd coloured skinny jeans, band t-shirts also used to cut myself. but I don't care since I know who I am... now. :]

Emo is NOT a stereotype. It's a genre of music. People just need to get their facts straight.

Not to bash on you or anything at all. :P

  2. I'm emo tooooo

and there is NOTHING wrong with it!!

    emo rocks

don't listen to the haters lol

    they r prob jealous :P

  3. If by Emo you mean that 'Hot Topic' c**p....its really annoying when average people REELY believe they're unique simply because they wear lots of black etc. It's almost like they're playing the part they think they're supposed to play....I'm not impressed on the whole.

  4. because its annoying....Sterotypical emos whine about how sad they are and talk about how original they are but they are all the same bleehhh lol

  5. It sucks because it's lame, being sad is your whole thing? every other generation was at least mad or rebelling or they stood for something, what do emos stand for beside lame hair cuts and c**p bands? Emo kids all seem like rich kids who have nothing better to do with their time but try and stand out, when every other generation just had that group that naturally stood out. Emo is just too packaged, it's a product there's nothing real about it you might as well be the "in crowd" Also they are too lame to come up with anything of their own, the skinny jeans and the hair in the face are from the punk era. In the 90's everyone was big in to piercings and wearing black. You're not quite punk, not quite grunge and not quite rock and roll add it all together and it equals: LAME.

  6. the true answer

emo is an abbreviation 4 emotionally distraught, which means to have emotional problems. being emo is to cut yourself because you don't want to die but you want to feel pain. i have a friend who is emo and its because her mother left her and her sister and her dad is dead.

if this is the problem 4 you, i sugest going to the hospital, which is where we sent my friend.

if your considered emo only because of your look...then i consider that goth.

  7. A fad or a clothing style never makes a person.  If you define yourself by the clothes you wear or the music you listen to, you've got problems.  Normal people define themselves by their beliefs, their feelings, their family, careers, etcetera.

I would never label myself, and I find it sad that "emo kids" feel the need to do so.  It's equally sickening when popular girls refer to themselves as "preps".  And all this self-labeling only creates more stereotyping, cliches, and exclusion of other groups of people in high school.

Furthermore, the whole "emo" look?  It's stupid.  Who the h**l decided mullets were a good thing to bring back?  And why do boys suddenly think it's cool to wear girls pants, eyeliner, and to constantly have their hair in their eyes?  "Emo" songs are even more idiotic than the fashion it inspired.
