Question:

What is wrong with her?

I'm a shelver at a library. The other day my coworker and I were shelving different sections of the library. My coworker starts to talk about how I'm so quiet, makes a comment about how she didn't even see me pass her, said she was just kiddin', and then mentions she still has about an hour before her shifts is over. Shortly after, she leaves and doesn't come back for the day...leaving me with the rest of her work. Why would she even mention her shift time & leave. Also, I do more of the work and our manager doesn't do anything. I started in April. She's been there for over two years.

  1. Wow, that's a weird situation! Well you could first try talking to her and telling her what you feel about the situation because she definitely shouldn't be dumping her responsibilities on you and still getting the credit, especially since she is an experienced worker! Also, let her know that if she doesn't change her ways that you will have to let the manager know. If nothing changes, it's time to go ahead and talk to the manager about the situation; I'm sure they'll know what to do!

    Good luck!

  2. I don't know what's wrong with your coworker, but i think you should tell your manager about it because it is unfair to you. or if you don't really want to tell your manager upfrony leave him or her a note.

  3. If she does this again tactfully tell your supervisor you haven't seen her for a while and were wondereing if she was sick and went home early.

  4. She is taking advantage of you.First talk to her if she has genuine reason, help her out for some more time,if you can. Otherwise tell to your manager. If he doesn't listen stop doing her work.

  5. shes trying to see how far she can use u before you say something. if you keep letting her slip off doing hardly no work at all without bringing it to the attention of other people, shes going to keep doing it. especially because your new.

  6. playing games, dont mind it

or maybe she likes you and is trying to confuse you b/c shes scared idk not enough info to tell

but i say leave it alone

    cant please everybody

  7. mention it to your boss... this lady can't walk all over you just because you're not a loud mouth. Or just confront her on it... chances are you'll catch her off guard because you are quiet.

  8. talk to her!! if she keeps on doing it talk to the manager... if you don't talk she'll tramp on you forever. u r nice and deserve to be respected

  9. I've had so many managers that don't do anything. Anyways, one of your managers jobs is to communicate to employees about their work, so i think you should let your manager know about you have to do your co-workers work and he/she needs to talk to her about it. Just keep working hard, being honest, and you'll be rewarded.

  10. She is lazy and she is taking advantage of that fact that she has been there for a long time and thinks she can get away with being a poor worker...plus she obviously has poor social skills. Maybe let it go for now since you are semi new (unless you are close to the management) and then bring it up later, hopefully they will catch on. No fun working with people like that.

  11. you should tlk to your manage ror dnt do her wrk

  12. maybe shes sick that or shes a lazy worker??

  13. she likes you! LOL

  14. I think that she is getting to know you, and she is trying to develop a friendship with you, and she leaves her work for you, so she see if you complain about her, also to see if you continue to do her work
