What is wrong with kids today?

I see so many questions on here from 11 or 12 yr olds asking "Am I fat?" ,"What makeup should I wear", etc. When I was 12 I was outside still playing in the dirt. I wasn't even allowed on the internet till I was 14 or 15 and back then I just got on AIM. I didn't wear makeup until I was maybe 14? And I dressed my age! h**l I'm not even certain if I actually knew what s*x was when I was 12, but I'm sure they do now! Girls now look like mini-strippers and dress more provocative than I do! I'm only 20 years old. I hate to think what my kids are going to be like. Will I be getting my 3 year old a thong for her birthday? Does this bother anyone else?

I agree. It is completely disgusting how kids act these days. I do think the parents have something to do with the whole thing, but the kids really need to step it up and know whats appropriate and inapprpriate .

It's a sad deal for kids that act good because their generation isn;t going to have a very good reputation.

People have been saying this for years but its just the natural decline in morale as time passes. Alot of kids grow up without parents and tv, music artist and just others who may be bad role models raise kids now and shape their minds. it is sad, and people need to wake up. Alot of kids are losing their childhoods trying to be grown.

Yes, that is society's fault. Not the kids' fault or their parents' fault. Don't blame them. Blame those people who would have us believe that such things are really important.

I am not sure what you are trying to say by writing this. That it was better when 11 and 12 year olds didn't use the Internet? Where's the justification?

What's wrong with wanting attention? Again, it is the society's fault. Still, tell me why older people like you are against sexual expression.

Then, you can prevent them from growing up to be something that is bad for them. Don't interefere however with harmless personal choices. You can prevent them from being bad people, but don't go any further than that.

There is a trend towards more freedom which has prevailed throughout history and I don't think it's going to stop any time soon.

it is kind of embarrassing how our youth is wasting  their time with all those nonsense stuff.

i wish we could send these young ens  to other parts of the world in order for them to experience how others live their life's. how other kids in their age group are living what are the most important stuff for those kids, you will be amazed  to find, what things these kids will give to have the things that our kids our young ens have in here and still complaining.

What's up with all this denying some people do re: their youth? To hear people talk, you'd think they were all sweet and innocent and raised like on Little House On The Prairie...and we all know that's bull!

Nothing wrong with kids today that wasn't considered "wrong" with kids in previous generations. I can recall seeing kids who were precocious back in the late 60s and 70s when I grew up. I saw some in the 80s and 90s, too.  Yet, I also saw kids in those times who were KIDS despite all the trends and temptations out there!

Even in 2008, kids are STILL kids, if you guide them right. Kids sing the same silly childhood songs, play the same games, and still giggle at the same silly things we all did as kids.  It's not as dire as some people make it out to be.

  just raise your children with proper morals and values and they should turn out right. but don't blame those girls. i'm 16 and there is more peer pressure on girls from friends, boyfriends, and media, you can't blame them for wanting to fit in
