What is wrong with local newscast programs?

Question

It seems like everytime I turn on the local news lately, another tradegy has plagued the area and the journalists seem to always find the most uneducated, inarticulate, poverty-stricken, homeless appearing people they can find to interview about the story. One woman they interviewed last night had two teeth missing and wore a shirt that said, "I'm With Stupid" written on it. I just shook my head and thought how ridiculous most of the people are. On that note, I am sure I will get some ridiculous answers to this question as some of those people will feel vendicated that I found a truth about them that they just can't stand. I want to thank those in advance who will do that for proving my point. And no, this is not meant to be sarcastic or mean; I just wanted to know if anyone else have picked up on those "entertaining" newscast stories.

nothing is wrong with them, they pick the people they are most comfortable with, based on the t-shirt, mostly stupid ones

You are right!  I have noticed the same thing.  I guess that means that these kind of people are the ones who are always out and about on the streets when these kinds of things happen.

They love to exaggerate in order to gain in the Ratings, example: Britney went to exercise, someone had booked the room at the same time, so they asked the people to please use another room because there had been a mistake, all were happy, they were given some water bottles, towels and other goodies for their troubles. One person place the water bottle on the counter, said she didn't want it.....well, the news reported that There were water bottles flying all over the place and people were enraged, and totally upset. Not true. But now they have you hooked and you want to wait, right? and see the bloody aftermath, now when it gets reported somewhere else, it will say something like" Riots brake out and the city is in flames because Britney took the people's work out room by force, etc, etc.  LMAO

Because those types of things happen in bad neighborhoods for the most part.  

I hate when something happens in your city and the national media comes and interviews those morons.  I also hate when they catch a serial rapist or something and he is wearing your favorite teams' cap.
