I want to know if i have a UTI (urinary tract infection). I just got over one a month and a half ago, and it was nothing like this. i have searing upper and lower abdominal pain. chills and flu-like symptoms. and other uti symptoms. ive tried diff medicine and none of it has been working. its getting increasingly worse and is becoming unbearable. i have no money to go to the doctor, are there any ways to figre out wats wrong with me?

  1. I agree with other responders, this could be potentially very serious if you don't take the proper antiobiotics for this.

But until you get to your doctor, and please go, something which may help relieve but NOT CURE, is to buy cranberry pills in the health food store. Start taking 4 a day, every couple of hours. It should help you with some of the uncomfortable sensations. It could take a day to start working. I've used that in the past.

But again, you must get to a doctor. If it's a UTI and reaches the kidneys, you're in trouble without medical intervention.

  2. If you have a fever, you may have an infection of some sort - any time you have severe abdominal pain, especially accompanied by fever, it is a red flag; you should be seen by the doctor -

Not only that, you had an infection last month, and it is now getting worse - chills are a sign of a fever- listen to your body - it is telling you need medical attention-

Go to an non profit hospital in your area- explain your financial situation; all hospitals have a 'free bed' for patients who need emergency care and are destitute.  At the worst, they will send you a bill and you can negotiate a payment plan; your health/life is worth going into a small debt-

Hospitals in my area have a billing dept that offer financial aid up to 6 months to one year...

In the future make it a habit to drink plenty of water... but get checked out - it sounds serious.

  3. I understand that you don't have money to go to the doctor but it sounds like you might have a kidney infection and if you wait too long you will need to go to the ER. the only way to cure it is to get antibiotics that are similar to ones for UTIs but longer dose and stronger. I had a kidney infection awhile after I had UTI. You really need to go to the doctor and get  medicine and if its not a kidney infection you still should get medical treatment. Hope this helps.
