I'm 16 and a guy. Recently I've been feeling overwhelmed by everything, I can't focus on anything, I fidget and move around when ever I sit down, I have severe mood swings (ranging from extreme happiness to depression and cutting) My constant irritability and such things are destroying my relationships with everyone and I can't figure out what's wrong and I dont know who to go to

  1. Those sound like symptoms of bipolar disorder or depression. You should go to your doctor and get tested so you can be treated properly with medication.

  2. Aw, welcome to puberty, enjoy your stay.

  3. Hormones, man.   It's all part of growing up male.   Also, social pressures can be intense on people your age.

Exercise may help burn off some of the energy that causes the fidgeting.

Nutrition can also be a factor - if you tend to live on soda and junk food, your diet is part of the problem.

Lastly, some counseling could help you sort some of this stuff out, at the very least by confirming to you that a lot of what you're experiencing is not uncommon.   The difference is, you're reacting more to it than might be good for your health (i.e. the cutting - not only can you get some nasty infections that can infect more than just the site being cut, but it can leave scars that can cost you in the future should you ever decide to go into work that requires physical scrutiny, such as obtaining high level security clearance, for example - no way do they want a person who has ever exhibited instability).

  4. i have the same problem as you, thou its not as severe i really dont know why wheir both like this i wish i did thou and i wish i could put a stop to it. i mean i cant even engoy sports anymore because i get nervice and tense while watching.

  5. I used to feel the same way. Please take this into consideration. It worked for me, although I am not you.

I had overwhelming anxiety. It turned out to be a chemical they put in food called sucralose. And it is in a lot of stuff. From fitness water to tomato sauce.

Sucralose is what Splenda is. Sadly, the package doesn't have to say Splenda or diet to have sucralose in it. You have to read the ingredients.

Sucralose is poison. It ruined five years of my life. I had a laundry list of medical problems while taking it, including overwhelming anxiety, depression, mood swings, insomnia, gastrointestinal issues and more.

The slogan, "Made from sugar..." is very misleading. Splenda might be made from sugar, but it is far from sugar. The resulting chemical is an organochloride (chlorocarbon). Organochlorides are typically poisons.

carbon monoxide - made from oxygen so its like a breath of fresh air

  6. This sounds like it could be bipolar disorder or an anxiety disorder (or both!).

Your best bet would be to see a psychiatrist to get a diagnosis and start on meds and with therapy.  Your internist or pediatrician should be able to give you a referral if you don't know of one yourself.  Both mood and anxiety disorders are very treatable.  For me, it took time to get on the right medications and learn the right skills in therapy to deal with my moods and anxiety issues.

  7. you sound like me but im a 19 year old girl. it's probably bipolar. maybe some a.d.d. and depression but bipolar includes depression. go to the doctor and get meds and start seeing a therapist. if you dont it will ruin your life. trust me... i learned the hard way.
