What is wrong with me? What can I do?

I am just 60 years old.

I have had depression for many years and am on medication.

I am on medication for high blood pressure.

I have just been diagnosed with an under active thyroid and have been started on a low dose of medication.

I spend most of the time on my sofa-have done since giving up work a year ago. I don't really feel low all the time, but need to be alone a lot.

Lately, when I do some housework, for over an hour I start to feel unwell then vomit!

I feel very weak and unable to do things I used to do.

I do no exercise-can't face it!

What do I need to do to get back to my old self and live a life!!!!!

Thank you in anticipation.

  1. id go and see a doctor :) there is hope for u.

  2. Definitely go and see a Doctor, what you have been feeling is not normal. I was diagnosed with an under active thyroid when I was younger and yes it does knock you and you feel like you cant move without collapsing but if you don't your depression will get worse. Believe me I had that too.

Make some targets, something simple, don't stretch too hard and give yourself a treat when you have done it.

Make sure you hae something to look forward to as well, meeting a friend for dinner or going to see a film. Something with other people, not on your own.

Family and friends are important, and will help you.

  3. Hi, Could you start to take some gentle exercise like a short walk for instance. Get yourself an MP3 player and listen to some of your favourite songs to take your mind off the drudgery. I know its not what you want to hear but I'm sure you will soon start feeling better.

Good luck with it, hope you feel better soon

  4. I too have been unwell of late and after giving advice to others on very similar questions as your own in  regards to felling low and in need of a gentle starter to getting back to how we were, i strongly suggest you consider going to your local swimming baths.

You can judge you level of fitness by the amount of lengths or widths of the pool.

Do not try too many if you have not been for a few years as parts of your body may hurt for a day after due to your inactivity, but no slight pain, no gain.

  5. It could be the mixture of medication not agreeing with you. You need to go to the doctor and ask if this mix is suitable. Also it may be affecting your immune system, the doctor will be able to sort you out. I sounds fixable to me!

  6. do you have a dog??

they can be a great friend to talk 2 when things get rough...

and u could take each other 4 walks around the blok..getting longer as u get stronger..

plus its a great feeling saving a life from the animal shelter.

  7. You need to see your Dr and explain exactly what you have here, sounds like you have lots of different issues here. Your health is affecting your life and this needs looking into.

  8. There is more medication for you . I have chosen to drop all medication and I still have bad days but I also get a few good days now and then. I am happy to stay on this earth and struggle with aging on my own. My grandfathers tell me it is okay but they are sorry I dont want to go to heaven just yet.
