It will not power on. If you press power i begins to come on and then turns back off. Does anyone know what is wrong with it and if so is there anything I can do to fix it because service for the tv is not an option right now?

  1. Mitsubishis that shut down like yours does is normally caused by bad solder connections on the YOKES...that will shut down most Mitsubishis.....

Other than that, we don't see many shutdown problems on the Mits line.....

Of course, IF YOU HAVE a newer (2004 - 2008) TV from them, all you have is a bad Lamp in your DLP TV set....not the vertical yoke in your CRT Projection TV set.....

  2. im not a t.v. repair man but i had the same problem with my hitachi 46" t.v. and it turned out to be the transformer was running hot causing it to shut down.(it kind of goes into safe mode so it wont cause alot of damage).i had to have some ic chips replaced along with the transformer for a cost of $400.im not a repair man, just sharing my experience with same problem.
