  1. Your CD writer is probably knackered - they're very cheap now, just swap it.

  2. Your CD-RW is probably broken, you can get an external USB one cheap these days just have a look around Ebay or other shops, i got an external DVD-RW for about 50p, and it works fine

so yeah have a good hunt round for a new one

  3. Probably there is some dust in your CD drive. Try some lens cleaning options.

  4. Your CD writer is probably broken, check out a place like Maplins for a cheap replacement. Never buy off eBay you will mostly like get scammed (like I have myself once before).

  5. What discs does the writer use?

Not all use every type of disc.

Some may accept CD-R but not CD+R or the same with CD-RW and CD+RW

Also you state that you get a message that the disc is invalid or '..it is a blank disk'.

It should be a blank disc or did you intend to put NOT a blank disc?

  6. When your burner program says to insert blank disc, look carefully as it says what type to insert.

another thing to do is to find the burner in my computer. Right click >properties and check all tick boxes in each tab are correct.

  7. Maybe your cd writer is already too old,I think it is the time to change new one.Or maybe the laser is damage.

  8. Are you sure you have a CD writer and not just a reader?
