What is wrong with my Verizon Blackberry Pearl?

My keyboard is messed up it types 2 letters at a time even in multitap. i tried to wipe it but i can't because i can't type the word blackberry! help me!!!!!

Try removing the battery from your BB and wait about 60 seconds and put the battery back on.

if this doesn't work then it might be that your button is mal-functioning therefore you should have the phone replaced if it is under warranty.
