What is wrong with my apartment fire alarm ?

IT beeps everytime anyone pass underneath it or just because..i check the battery it works ....What can I do to fix it from beeping ....all day long .

change the battery anyway...and if it doesnt stop call the manager of the apartment to come fix it..it should not be doing this..can you replace it?

Ours beeps every 3 or 4 minutes when the battery is getting low. Pull it down and see if its one you can buy for much cheaper than your apartment offers, or just settle and call them. We couldnt afford the charge, so we actually took it down from the ceiling and left it in the car for a month lol ... not the best plan, but it saved our sanity.

Actually, they are supposed to provide you with one that works to begin with.  Check your lease.  If fire alarm is required to be provided by them or the state or city codes require they provide it, they cannot charge you a hundred dollars without proof that the one they gave you to begin with was brand new and properly installed.  Call the fire dept and talk to them.
