What is wrong with my bike?

when ever i downshift(rear gears) the trigger always gets stuck and i have to push it back into place, it only happens when i push it back all the way (about 3 speeds) does it need grease, it 's not a problem or anything

  1. it's probably what "bikeworks" said, but i had a bike with campagnolo shifters and the thin rubbery hood covers would come loose under my hand, twist, and get caught in the shift lever mechanism s******g up the shifting.


  2. Sounds like you need a new cable and housing or your shifter is worn out. If the bike is left out in the weather or is getting old your best best is to replace, not try to lube, the cable.

    Drip a bit of oil on the rear derailleur pivots.
