Question:

What is wrong with my camera?

I have a digital camera and suddenly it stopped performing the function of taking pictures. The lens opens and I can view previous pictures on the screen but that's it. When I try to take a picture it just makes a clicking noise. I won the camera less than a year ago so I have no receipt or warranty.

  1. The aperture is broken and the motor inside is either dead or is just turning over..

  2. It does have a warranty ... all cameras come with one.  Did you register it?

  3. Remove the batteries for at least one minute and allow the camera to reset or restore to the original settings.

Clean the camera and battery contacts as described in the link below and make sure your batteries are charged. Digital Cameras require lots of power. If the contacts are not really good it can cause lots of problems even if the batteries have a  full charge.

  4. Did you try changing the battery, lol? Maybe you clicked a wrong button and it's locked or something, I would just bring it to an expert.
