My a/c was working kindda good but suddenly I noticed it wont blow any cold air specially if hot weather (thus everyday). if the fan speed is in 1 (lowest) then it kind of blows some fresh air but not entirely cold air. if the fan is set to the highest (4) then it blows just warm air. during the evening time it seems to work better. it is a subaru outback 1995 by the way. 1. it probably needs a recharge or just add more refrigerant to it...or the compressor solenoid is out or the compressor clutch is bad...Those are the simpleist problems, so I would check those first....if its low on refrigerant the pressure safety switch will deactivate the compressor....try adding some refrigerant first...if it requires r-12 youre outta luck...they stopped making r-12 in 1995 so your car may use r-134(a) ...which you can get a little can at any automotive store

  2. the compressor is busted it will cost like 1000 dollars to replace

  3. The a/c unit needs recharged

  4. You may need a refrigerant charge.

  5. Mine did the same thing-the a/c clutch was sticking.  Spray some WD 40 on it and see if it starts moving again..if not you need a new compressor, unless you are lucky enough to find just the clutch part.
