my fuel pump went out and i recently had a new one installed after driving the car for a few days it would stall for no apperant reason at any given time and when it stalled the brake pedal would completely lock up so you cant stop at all i would pull the car to the side of the road put it in park and it starts right back up with no problems and it would do this off and on.... now about a week later the brake pedal is completly locked all the time it takes forever to stop the car since the brake pedal only presses down about a half inch and the car still stalls every once in a while ....... what could be the cause of this?

  1. Vacuum leak at the brake booster. Step on the pedal harder. It is not "locked" it just does not have the power assist to help you.

  2. definitely the brake booster
