About a month or 2 ago, my dog got ran over, and needed a cast for a couple of weeks. Just a couple days ago, my dog would not lay down and just sit down. Earlier today, he got a pee stain on his butt and left a trail wherever he went. He rarely has an appetite, and has no energy to do anything. Please help me, thank you.

  1. Take your dog, to the vet.

Nobody on the internet can see your dog to tell you whats wrong.

  2. A lot of people don't realize that animals can be traumatized mentally and emotionally as well as physically.

Do you live near a busy street?  Has there been a lot of noise around or has someone yelled at him or stepped on him?  Have you changed his diet?

When I was 8 years old I got hit by a car while I was riding my bike across a cross-walk.  I didn't go near that street while I was on my bike for almost a year.

First thing's first, you need another opinion from a different veterinarian.  After you're certain there is nothing wrong with your dog's body you can start looking for what's wrong in his environment.

  3. Take your pet to a DIFFERENT VET. Make a few phone calls and get a recommendation first. And, tell the vet... don't tell me he is ok! Because he is not!  I don't know where you live but if you live near a university with a Veterinary program & hospital, this is where you should go. Excellent care at a discounted price. I took my pet there and received state of the art medical care for a fraction of the cost.

On a personal note: my greyhound fell into a shallow flood control channel a few years ago. Lots of rushing water, abrasions, very scary! Took about a year to overcome the panic she experienced every time she heard rushing water.

  4. Sounds like he has some kind of infection.  I would suggest you speak to your vet.

  5. a trip to the vet sounds like a good idea

  6. take him to the vet and they will help your dog get better. He may be scared because he remembers the crash and it may scare him to hear loud sounds. You should go to the vet, and ask them what is wrong with him.

I hope your dog feels better :)

  7. Where was the cast? Because if it is on one of the rear legs he may be suffering from some chronic symptoms of the accident.  For example maybe there is an under-developed muscle at the injury point that is now causing discomfort that wouldn't necessarily show up in a physical examination. Especially, when dealing with casts, dogs don't know how to properly use them... your dog may have been putting pressure on a funny spot and creating a sore or injuring a tendon or muscle.  Kind of similar when an athlete gets a muscle injury, it is not always "testable" to find out what it is.  Plus, if there is a pee stain on your pups bum their may be some muscle control issues.  These ideas are only really pertanent if the injured leg was one of the back legs. If not, you may be dealing with an infection.  It's definitely a sign if the dog is not eating or drinking properly.  You may want to get a second opinion from another vet.  I hope everything works out!

this sounds bad. I don't think that's a good vet .Try finding

another like the place he got his cast.

  9. Take him back to the vets...Now

Sounds like alot of fear, he has no idea whats wrong, so you need to take action, please
