Question:

What is wrong with my duckling?

My Baby Duckling isn't following it's siblings anymore and won't go into the pen and lays in the grass most of the day and is not eating very much she is drinking still but i am scared that she may be ill. i have noticed that she has growing problems but i thought all runts do so if anyone has seen or heard of this behaviour before please help me

  1. First I would make sure that the other ducks are not picking on her. A lot of animals that are normal prey animals will pick on the smallest animal in the flock so that predators will go after the weakest first...thus the survival of the fittest.

        If that is not the case, and your duck is smaller than the rest of your ducks, you duck may have a health problem. If you have the time and the money a vet visit would be a good idea. If not, try to find a farm supply store, and ask some one there. They may also have some over the counter medicine that will help your duck out, which would cost you a lot less than a trip to the vet.


  2. Sorry to say but your baby duckling is ill

    When they  do what your duckling is doing

    the out come isn't very good

    But time will tell you can take it to the Vet if you want to

  3. I'm not sure. But i would recommend that you take her to a vet. She might be Sick or maybe something is wrong with her. I really hope i helped. :)
