I'll list some symptoms and I appreciate if you will help me figure out what's wrong. I have an appointment in three weeks

1) My eyes feel like they are 'pulling' when I look at the computer or a book or anything near by. But my vision is the same... nothing is blurred at all.

2) My eyes feel really dry sometimes, and even if I blink and blink - it doesn't feel less dry.

3) My eyes feel really tight.

4) Whenever I am on the computer or study I feel nauseas after a while.

5) I have this weird headache, where my head feels really tight. Especially above my eyes.

6) Neck aches as well as shoulders.

To get relief I:

1) Go outside and stare at something far in the distance but as soon as I get back in and start studying again, it start.

2) Close my eyes and place my fingers over my eyelids and press gently.

3) Go to sleep (which isn't good lol, not getting a lot of work done).

4) Open my eyes wide.

5) Massage temples and forehead.

Relief is short.

Rub my eyes though I should n

  1. You show symptoms of:

    1. Long-sightedness

    2. Dry eyes

    3. Stress

They could all be related. I reckon you'll need glasses in around 3 weeks ;)

  2. Computer work causes a lot of fatigue, headaches, and eyestrain.  Make sure you take breaks from your computer and don't work in dim light.  Look up "Computer Vision Syndrome" for more information.

Having trouble with near work can be a sign of farsightedness or an accommodative problem, both of which can be fixed with glasses.  I would definitely see an optometrist since you are having symptoms.

  3. Sounds like dry eyes. Try some over the counter artificial tears about four times per day for a few days and see if you notice an improvement.

  4. You need to get an eye exam with dilation.  You may have underlying problems, but it sounds like the symptoms I had right before I got a pair of glasses for work.  After I wore the glasses for about 7 months, my vision corrected itself and the headaches went away.  I didn't have any problems seeing, it was just giving me headaches to read or work on the computer.
