Ok i have been wearing fake nails for the past month or so and now under two of my nail there are these small brown lines that showed up several day ago and have grown allitle and new ones have started to form. What is going on?

  1. Those are burst capillaries under the nail bed. Any trauma can do it, from smacking your nail on the kitchen counter to bending it back to rough manicuring. (Did you tug removing the fake nails?)

They're harmless and eventually move to the end of the nail, where you can scrape them away.

  2. When you say fake, do you mean the ones you buy from the supermarket or actual Acrylic Nails done by a Nail Technician?

If from supermarket, leave them off for a while.  If done by a Nail Tech, go and see them, as it may be a fungal infection starting, and please don't say you went to a Asian Nar Bar, if you did they do not sanitise there products/intruments and that is the start of fungal, I would suggest to go to a decent Nail Tech so that they can inspect the damage and use the proper treatment to begin with, and they may be able to stop the fungai.

Hope this helps, as if you don't have it treated by a professional, the nail bed will have to grow out and you will not be able to wear Acrylics until this problem is solved.

Good Luck honey.  Let me know how you go and what the Nail Tech recommended/

    Minny :-)

  3. are these brown lines like streaks under ur nails??...if so, they might be splinter haemorrhages!! you should get them checked if more develop!! as this is a sign of infective endocarditis, SLE...and some other conditions

if they r on you nail (not on the nail bad) then they might just be melanin deposits!!

  4. Go to the place where you had them put on and ask if it is a fungus. Chances are they have seen whatever it is before and can identify it for you.
