What is wrong with my friend and mine's phones?

sometimes when we text each other the message doesn't get received for lik 25 minutes...we live like 20 feet away from each other so its not like there is a distance problem.

BTW i have at&t and he has verizon if that helps

  1. The message doesn't go directly between your phones, first it has to go to the provider's system. If one of you is not in range (maybe your walls are too thick?) then it will not be sent continuously, your provider may only send the message every 20 minutes.


  2. Turn off your phones at least once a day.  They are just like computers and need to rebooted on a consistent basis.  Not only that, but turning off your phone and then turning it right back on re-registers it with the tower which "pings" for any new messages that may be waiting out there.

    Aside from that, being side by side (well, distance in general) has no bearing on the speed of text messages.  Not to mention you are on different carriers and completely different networks.  AT&T's text traffic my go through a switch in Georgia and Verizon's may go through a switch in Kansas City even if you are standing side by side with each other.

  3. Try deleting messages you both have in the phone that are old. You both may be maxed out. also, pull the battery and let the device reboot.
