  1. It sounds likes she pregnant

Looks like you're going to have baby hamsters on the way!!

    Hope this helps hun xx

  2. Pregnant for sure when she gets as fat as a baseball take the running wheele out

  3. i have a syrian

    umm

when i first got mine he was very jumpy

just try leaving her somewhere dark alone they like it !

she could have been scratching alot if you got her and she may just need time to settle ,one time when i had a hamster it took 3 weeks for him to settel in and stop scratching !

if you get any more worried go to a vet !

    another possibility

is she could be in season !

if she is she would get bigger and nipples would inlarge and stuff ready for a baby , also she may feel you are a threat to her and could be a male about to mate with her !

or it could be a fantom pregnancy !

  4. She is pining for the fjords...........

  5. could be pregnant!

  6. hah looks like you got a deal from the pet store, you got a bunch of hamsters for the price of one! :P

Sounds like your hamsters pregnant! :P

If you still aren't convinced, take her to a vet and ask!

Be careful though, hamsters mothers aren't always kind and nurturing, a lot of the time, they eat their babies, gross I know but they do, yuk!

So keep an eye on the soon-to-be babies.

    Good luck!

  7. Well sometimes you can buy a pregnant hamster by mistake. My friend did.

    haha

  8. If the hair around her mammae (teats) has receded, it means the body is preparing to let the little hammies (sounds like she's having some!) find the teats easier! If she is around 8 weeks or more I think, she should be pregnant. If she was in with the boys at the pet shop, then definitely so.

My two rats were in with the males at 10 weeks, and at 13 weeks when they were home and settled with me, one produced 10 and the other produced 9. We couldn't resist keeping 4 does!

Don't forget to seperate the babies if she has some, as brothers and sisters, fathers and daughters, and even sons and mothers can have babies together!

Do your research, and good luck! You should find a hamster breeder or previous hamster breeder near you, contact them, and tell them your situation. You could politely ask them, this being your first litter I take it, to help you out and gve you some tips and advice.

Don't handle the babies to much before they open their eyes. It atresses the mother.

The smell may just be oils in her coat. Give her cage a good clean out before the babies come, you may not be able to do it for a week or a bit more when the babies arrive! When she is very accustomed to you, maybe after 3 weeks when the babiesare older, you can bath her in very shallow water that only comes up to her feet. Give her PLENTY of good quality bedding, nothing fragranced. She needs lots of nutritious food, such as vegetables and more hamster food, and you should add a couple of peanuts/monkey nuts and sunflower seeds to her food.

Good luck, and don't stress her! Hope this helps, congrats on the possible new babies! =].

  9. if she is fat and has visible nipples she may be pregnant. and being jumpy isn't much to worry about. this is a new place and she hasn't been there a long time. maybe even that is just her personality. even she may be ready to have babies if she is pregnant. just keep an eye on her. the worst thing would be she is gonna have babies. but that isn't to bad. don't worry.

  10. Well it sounds like it may be pregnant? is it a baby still or how old is it. the jumping around shows it may be restless if pregnant and same with its nipples...get back to me with the age and ill help you out

  11. if you only had her 3 days, most hampsters are like that, when you first get them...they are not used to the surroundings, the smells, etc.  so imagine going from where you are comfortable, then getting yanked up and taken to a place that you don't know around things you are not familiar with.  as far as being fat...she might be pregnant...watch out it doesn't take long for them to give birth

  12. She could be pregnant. Usally they become very active right about when they are going to give birth.

    Hope this helps! :)

  13. well if shes showing nipples and is fat then she may be pregnant best to keep an eye on her c if she gets any fatter then she is more then likely pregnant hope this helps

  14. theres a chance shes pregnant
