  1. If you have a HD tv and dont have HD cables connecting the box to the tv then ur picture will not be to the best of quality, sounds like you have ur box hooked up with coaxile because if you have it hooked up any other way then you wouldnt have to walk thru that set up. try using a HDMI cable, or component cables....even RCA cables will do better then coaxile on HDTVs.....think about it........you have a resolution of 720p going into ur tv but coaxile(no matter what the signal is) puts out only 480....so it reduces the signal down from 720p to 480i......making the picture horrible. Another thing, only use one set of cable to connect a box or any device to a tv, alot of people try to connect devices with HDMI and coaxile or HDMI and component cables, you only need one set.

  2. I just had the same problem. After we got Verizon, we received the new free Philips plasma TV. After I hooked it up, it had horrible "blobby looking" picture. Then, I figured out what the problem is. I had a regular, non-HD cable box hooked up to it. Its an HDTV, so it is supposed to be used with an HD cable box. After a while, you will get used to it if you dont get an HD cable box.

  3. 1) Its a Philips. Now thats out of the way so....You need a HD box from charter or the picture will look horrible.
