What is wrong with my new puppy?

My new 8.5 week old puppy had gotten sick a few tim es today. The first time it was her food which looek as if she hadn't chewed it. She is acting ok, should I call the vet?

She is probabley getting useta food cuz shes only 8.5 weeks and wants her moms milk id take it to a vet to get an eating plan

get her soft food diff kinds   if she doesnt get ok by tomorrow or next day  taker to the vet go get better.

Everyone else has said it.. but it's probably nothing to be alarmed about.. it's probably stress and his getting used to a new food that isn't from his mother. If it's still happened in three days, that's when I would go to the vet.

I would.  I thought you had to wait so many months before taking it away from the mother?

I got a new puppy at the start of June, and during the first couple of days, he would get sick after eating - there was even some blood in his vomit and he got diarrohea.... I called the vet, and they said that they just stress about being in new surroundings and the food you give them (even if it's 'puppy food') can be a bit harsh on their stomach.

The vet advised to just get some poached (skinless) chicken and some cooked plain white rice and to chop it up finely and feed him that (warm). It is meant to be very gentle on their stomachs because it is so bland, and they will usually eat it all up no problems. That should do the trick. If it persists, take pup to the vet, but it should be fine in a couple of days once she has settled in to the new home :-)

Maybe she doesn't like that food and she probably want to be fed by her mom.

Did you perhaps get your puppy from a pet store or puppy mill?  They are generally sick puppies

HI, what sort of food is it that your feeding her? if it is a solid food try using a softer one, or try mashing up the food so that it is just a paste.  For my puppies, I got them when they were 3 weeks old due to mother abandoning them, I was feeding them puppy milk, and at about 7 weeks they started on puppy solids, which was just a very pasty dog food. at first i mixed some of the puppy food with some puppy milk to make it softer and as they got used to it i used less and less puppy milk.

Be careful with the rice, only use basmati rice as others can be harmful to your dog, they dont digest them as easy

I have a small dog and she has this problem weekly.  We noticed that if she drinks water that is more than 2 days old that upsets her tummy. Another option is to go to your local pharmacy and get baby tummy medications. We use the generic CVS brand. It usually helps within a few hours.
