What is wrong with my new tv? please read on.?

i have brought a brand new tv its a big screen tv its one of the latest tvs out in the shops. and the other night i turned my tv off beacuse it was late and i went to bed and i woke up in the early hours of the morning to find out that my tv was on in the living room i made sure i turned the tv off but i didnt pull the plugs out but that dont matter anyway beacuse i never used to do that. its happen twice to me now 2 nights in a row. whas wrong with it.

check and see if there is a timer that will turn your tv on . there all so might be a neighborer that might have a remote that is doing it.could even be a garage door opener

My guess is that your not actually shutting the tv off when you think you are. If you are using a remote you might just be shutting off the cable box or whatever is sending the picture.  Instead of using the remote, use the power button on the tv.  There should an indicator light to let you know if it's on or in standby mode.  The only other thing to check is if it's on a switched outlet.
