  1. Ha! yea, M3 is retarded.

Have you checked all your phone lines?

Have you called the phone company to see if there is an outage in the area?

Have you checked all the other phones in the house?

Personally, I switched to cable internet.  It's more reliable in my area.

  2. The DSL signal effectively just "piggybacks" on your phone line, so it's quite possible for your DSL internet connection to be working while your regular phone service does not.

Go to the telephone demarc point and unplug your internal extension wiring, so that everything inside the house is disconnected.  Then trying calling your line with your cellphone again.  If it's still busy, then the problem is on the outside line and it's time to call your phone company for repair.   If you hear your number ringing on your cell phone, then the fault lies somewhere on your own internal wiring or equipment.

  3. call your telco, sounds like a bad port on the circuit pack at the SLC bank.

  4. Well if you are calling your self off of your own phone of course you are going to get a busy signal. If you have no dial tone, but you are connected to the internet maybe you need to disconnect from the internet.
