What is wrong with my pressure washer?

I keep the unit stored in my basement to avoid freezing temps. When I tried to use it today it would build up pressure until I pulle the trigger. For 1 second it would be a full power and the unit would not generate any more pressure.

Excell 2500 model.

Possible the spring that controls the valve that allows pressure to build, then releases it may need to be replaced.

I would  check the pump.  Have you been using it with low water pressure, or letting it run with no water turned on?  I would think only holding pressure for 1 second would indicate worn pump valve or broken spring.
