Okay, so i have three rabbits, a small female netherland dwarf, a male mini rex and another female and i think she's a rex. The mini rex and rex like one another and a couple of times, the mini rex got into the cage and well u kno, but not for very long. But i recently moved cross country with my rabbits and they are in new hutch like "condos" In the "basement" is grass and my female rex it like digging a burrow. She is the only one doing that altho the male is digging, but not a burrow! She is completetly normal except for the burrowing. I'm worried, what is going on with my rabbit??

  1. Nothing really unless she is pregnant and trying to build a nest underground which they do in the wild anyway. So she will just be following her instincts. She is probably just having fun and playing.

    Hope I helped :D

  2. Nothing sounds wrong with her, rabbits burrow and live underground in the wild. She just following her instincts.

maybe your others are more lazy, or maybe it's the s*x and breed.

  3. Haha. Could she be pregnant? Like was the he close to her at all? It took my rabbit about 3 seconds to get pregnant, it was an accident (the boy got out of the cage, but i grabbed him as soon as he hopped up on her:P). Both different types of rabbits too...he was half the size of her...but anyway. That's what my rabbit did at first. She might just be building a nest? Or...what the other people were saying. :)

  4. rabbits have a natural instinct to burrow. they live underground in the wild. the rex may be the only one doing it because she does not like the cage, is younger and has not been as domesticated as the others, or she is trying to get out. i wouldnt worry about it, unless she burrows out.

  5. Not really sure!?!?

  6. Why aren't they neutered?

  7. rabbits just do that.  its totally normal.  whenever i let my bunny outside she'll start to work on her borrow but when she comes out she'll just come back inside and go to her cage again.  they just have to do it.  it's "in their blood to dig"  =P  she might even fill it back in later.  everything's fine.

it's actually good for them.  it will keep their nails short and it's good exercise =)
