Question:

What is wrong with my television?

All I'm getting is snow. The cable box is fine, since I can see the numbers changing whenever I press the next channel button. I'm not much of a wiz on this, so I didn't bother touching anything. Anyone know how to solve this?

  1. unscrew the cable connection to the cable box and your TV and rescrew both ends of the cable  back in and see if this helps the snowy appearance disappear.  Also check the end by the cable outlet too.

  2. Either your cable has been shut off or there is a wire disconnected somewhere.  You should have a cable running from the wall to your cable box, connected on the back to something that looks like a s***w and says "ANT IN" or "CABLE IN" or something else involving "IN."  Then, coming from an "OUT" s***w-looking thing, there should be another cable going from that to your TV "IN" doo-hickey.

If one of those cables is disconnected, just s***w it back in.

If everything looks connected, call your cable company.

  3. switch inputs on your tv.

make sure your tv is on channel 3 or whatever channel you use in conjunction with the box.

the connection may be poor you can try jiggling the cable around.

your cable may be out. try watching regular tv and see if you have any problems.
