My toe is a little sensitive to touch on the edge of the nail. When I rub the sore area its painful. Could this be an ingrown toenail

  1. Probably it is an ingrown toenail. This happened to me too. Just try and keep your toe dry and clean. If you are a good outdoor player then im sorry you will have to quit playing for some weeks. Try and prevent any more injuries to your effected toe and donot wear tight footwears. Consult a GOOD foot doctor to CURE this problem. Till then donot make matters worse by playing etc., or you might even will have to get your complete nail removed oof your toe, like me.

  2. Yes, this is an ingrown toenail this can happen when you cut ur nails too short or too in. This has happened to me. Try to wear open shoes and dip your toe in hot water twice a day (morning and night) it's taken quite a while for mine to clear up just don't touch it and don't cut your nails until it's fully healed..you wouldn't want 2 ingrown toenails.

  3. Yes, it most certainly is. With a pair of nail clippers cut a V in your nail to allow some give away from the affected sore areas of your toe. Soaking it in Epsom salt might be a good idea as well.

  4. Sounds like the right diagnosis to me, as I've had ingrown toenails for years.

But I would check with a podiatrist (foot doctor) if it continues to bother you, because it could be something else.
