What is wrong with my yahoo avator?

I have a Verizon Yahoo account. A picture of my avatar always appeared when I checked my messengers. However, since Sept. 1. 2008 my avatar has not appeared when I check my messages. I contacted Verizon and yahoo but they could not help. I tried to restore my computer but that didn't help. I know that an icon of my avatar is supposed to appear when I check my e-mail. Does anybody know how I can get the icon of my avatar to appear when I check my messages?

When Yahoo upgraded the classic mail they removed the avatar. Who knows why. I liked seeing mine when I went to check the mail. Click this for more info about it.  " What's New" at the top of your mail page to see what's been added, removed and changed.
