Question:

What is wrong with swear words?

Seriously, why are curse words taboo in today's society? Everybody says them, and the taboo just makes them more likely to be said, and they will still be said. How about everybody stops being all careful around curse words and they should be free to say them whenever they want. Because how is $h1t worse than p**p, or c**p? I'd like to hear your thoughts on this.

  1. George Carlin, famous comedian, recently passed away, said it best-

"There is no such thing as Bad Words (or Bad Language), only words (or Language) used badly.

To me, this means that your words are only harmful to another if that other chooses to allow them to be.  I [or you] can say anything that I [or you] may choose to say, and if you [or I] choose to be hurt or offended by what is said who is really at fault?  The speaker or the listener?

I choose to allow you the right to say what ever you wish to say. Words have no physical effect on me and your criticisms, though crude, may be accurate enough to cause me to rethink my position, or my attitude, thus causing change or growth of personality.

    Make sense?

  2. you can say p**p to your children eg: Oh you did a p**p, But you cant say oh you did a s*it...

    And they are not nice!!!

  3. Educated people have larger vocabularies than the uneducated riff-raff who must use vulgarities because they don't know any better.  Elevate   and expand your vocabulary.  Exercise some self-control.  There are ways of being insulting without saying words related to bodily functions.  There are other ways to express frustration with a situation or a person without resorting to the lowest form of communication.  I know all those words, believe me, I do -- but I'd prefer not to use them or hear others use them.  Anybody might be excused for an outburst of a word or so if they've stubbed their sore toe in the dark, or stapled their thumb to the wall by accident.  But to allow one's conversation to be riddled with it is a certain sign of ... prison culture?  stupidity?   no self-control,  weak vocabulary, lack of education....

You might, rather than call someone a unpleasant name, say instead, "Your parents were never married, were they?"  or "You know who to send a card to for Father's Day?"  Or you might say to him, "I hope that when you get home this evening your mother runs out from under the porch and bites you." If the lout understands what you have said, however, he may "cordiallly invite you to descend to the place of eternal torture."  Whereupon you might wish upon him that the fleas of a thousand camels take up residence in his tighty-whities.

  4. I know I fell the same ways

  5. You can`t use certain swear words in front of kids or minors as they have a vulgar meaning of a sexual nature. Besides have you ever heard a group of schoolgirls effing and blinding in the street? It doesn`t sound very refined or feminine. It makes them sound as common as dung.

  6. What  comes  out  of  your  mouth  may  have  the  BIGGEST  impact  on  the  people  around  you..  If  you  are  independently  wealthy  and  have  no  need  of  any  real  friends,  well..

I  don't  often  swear  because  I  feel  that  by  restraining , when  I  should  have  to  swear ,  it  will  carry  a  much  greater  impact.

The  words  are  meant  to  be  hateful  in  most  cases  and  we  don't  need  any  more   "ear"  pollution  than  we've  already  got.

  7. it is the puritan way of thinking the forefathers brought over to escape religious prosecution in Europe. Also it really sucks to hear disrespectful abusers to life's liberty's especially in the presence of elders. respect is forgotten in todays societal war zones of existence. we don't care who we offend as long as the intended bag of hammers for a brain that we have just humiliated and insulted understands that the reason the planet is getting warmer each year is his fault and we are going to see how many people we can attract by screaming at the top of our lungs we don't like it getting warmer.

  8. Many times we dont know the meaning of swear words we say. And also it seems impolite and rowdy , and people make an impression of the person swearing as a person to be ignored.

  9. it's all about the meaning behind the word. like when you say you're stupid..it's not as bad as saying you're an @$$ hole...

    see what i mean.
