What is wrong with the AC in my car?

My AC will not blow cool air when I come to a stop, however it will blow cool when I start driving again. I released the freon and filled it back up, but now it has stopped altogether. Is this my compressor or my condensor?

  1. The answer above is correct and depending on the year, make and model you could of had a bad cooling fan or a bad fan clutch and there was nothing wrong with the freon.

As for it not cooling now, two things...........1. you have the system incorrectly charged up or 2. you did not pull a vacuum on the system and it has air / moisture in it.

  2. Sound like maybe your engine cooling fan is not working properly...

When you start moving again the air flow through the condensor gets the temp down and your ducts start blowing cold again...

Assuming you charged your A/C correctly, of course...
