I used to defend them but I believe they are just playing politics because its an election year.  I hope none of the encumbents are re elected.  We need some new people with a sincere desire to represent their constituents rather than playing political party power games.  I'm talking about both parties.  The Republicans should have taken care of this years ago.

Because we didn't elect a 2/3 majority and we democrats are tired of listening to the same old c**p from republicans that refuse to compromise.  Republicans refuse to cooperate so they can sit there and pick their noses all they want, we have better things to do.

When the administrative branch and the legislative branch are of opposing parties, it's really hard for anything to get done. Plus, when you've had the administrative branch pissing all over the Constitution for the past 7 years, nothing can change overnight.

Offshore drilling and drilling in Alaska will do nothing for the price, or for the immediate relief at the pump for at least ten years. Equipment has to be designed and built and then put into position for production. That's not even counting the infrastructure for delivery of the oil from the new oil rigs. It is going to take years and years. New offshore and Alaska is not the answer.

yeah, and the Republicans here in the California legislature are doing the same thing.  They're refusing to pass a budget (1& 1/2 months after the Constitutional deadline) and Republican Gov. Schwarzenegger signed an executive order that laid off several state employees and cut the pay of others to federal minimum wage (which is actually below our state minimum wage) until they are able to pass the budget.

Yes, pretty funny in a sad way, Nancy turned out the lights.  If think you should write to your representatives and ask them and tell them how disappointed you are in them.  We are in such a mess, and all the powers that be can do is act like little kids--it wasn't me, it was them and nobody does anything.
