As expected, they vetoed the U.N resolution against Zimbabwe. Why?

And why do they always go against what is good for the world?

  1. China at least has economic ties to Zimbabwe and both China and Russia argue for noninterference in other countries internal affairs (Taiwan, Tibet, Xinjiang for China and Eastern Europe for Russia) and a vote against Zimbabwe would be inconsistent to this policy.

  2. They want the UN powers kept 50-50! Who knows what the new World Order has to offer if we can invade countries like iraq without a UN resolution!!! SIGNS OF THE TIMES!!!

  3. Sanctions should be illegal. They should be classed as a war crime. What good is the starving of poor Africans going to be for the world. And why should we be so concerned about a poor small African country. Read the details on yahoo news.

    1. Morgan refused to enter the run off

2 political violence is rife during elections in Africa because the poor falsely think that "their man" can dramatically improve their lives.

3 in Zimbabwe, no one has to instigate violence as can be seen from the recent Kenya elections and Mongolian elections where violence was rife. Thats the way of life in £rd world countries.

4 We must compare the levels of violence in Zimbabwe to that of Iraq. Where we have an illegal invasion and the deaths of over a million people. And refugees of about 4 million. If the UN was not such a C*R*A*P organisation, where are its Iraqi resolutions?

  4. Nobody knows what goes on in the cracks of their Government this is blinded from public view. They probably have their own reasons and such for vetoing.

  5. Russia and China are non democratic countries with no liking for democracy.

  6. "Good for the world"?

What do you know about what's really going on there?

Everything you "know" was fed to you by the mainstream media propaganda.

  7. yeah what touz said, i was just about to publish my report but she beat me to it.

  8. because it puts pennies in their economy - their idea of democracy is different to ours (not right or wrong, but different) also, they are not as fussed as we are about human rights issues or freedom of information

  9. Becasue east is east and west is west - it always will be. They have to be seen to have some power over the outcome of events.

  10. here's the explanation they gave:

    Russia:

"Such a move, however, would have taken the UN beyond its mandate in trying to punish political disputes by artificially elevating them to the level of a threat  to international peace and security"

    Russian UN Ambassador Vitaly Churkin.

    China:

Chinese Ambassador Wang Guangya, whose nation is one of Zimbabwe's major trading partners, said Zimbabwe should be left to resolve its political crisis on its own. "The development of the situation in Zimbabwe until now has not exceeded the context of domestic affairs," Wang said.

{Chinese Ambassador Wang Guangya, whose nation is one of Zimbabwe's major trading partners} >>>>it's all about money and power... always...

  11. The U.N mandate is very clear and it is on record for you to read. One of the clauses reads, and I will paraphrase it,"the U.N will not interfere with the internal politics of a sovereign nation" Much as we all know that what is going on in Zimbabwe is beyond belief, the U.N cannot get involved and the Russians and the Chinese,in this case are politically correct but morally wrong. Do not forget the world via the U.N did not give the USA or the U.K permission to invade Iraq. The U.N said the affairs of Iraq should be settled by the Iraqis.

We want to put sanctions on Zimbabwe just as we did Iraq, but do not forget the the sanctions against selling them medicine and even baby food, did not harm Saddam and his cronies but it was responsible for thousands of deaths amongst the Iraqi people. More probably than Saddam killed. So whilst I cannot agree with the Russians and Chinese on this vote from a purely emotional point of view, they politically did nothing wrong. The African nations are trying to sort the problems out and perhaps they should be given more time.

  12. Both countries have huge economic interests in Africa - simply as that.
