  1. if you reinstalled the gps, then you blew the fuse again. look at the system requirements for the gps device and compare that to the fuse's capability. i ran a second cigarette lighter in my grand fathers truck for that reason exactly. yes i did put a fuse in that one too.

  2. buy new one at parts store and /or just see how it wires up to check its wires it hand screws in and out from behind

  3. Check the connection at the back of the lighter socket.

  4. check wire that connects to back of tighter plug in or it could need to be replaced very cheap and easy done can buy it at any auto parts store

  5. Check it with a test light first to make sure that it is working and if not check the wires harness on the back of it.....

  6. Checking the connection on the back can sometimes be hard to do.

The first thing to do is to turn on your ignition, sometimes the ignition has to be on before power will be applied to the socket.

Next, try a different device. Sometimes you have to spin the plug around and jiggle it to make it work.

Your next step would be to pull the panel and check the fuse, they are generally 30 amp fuses.

Lastly, check the connection on the back. Some are held on to a threaded shaft by a nutt, some are just held on by friction.

If none of this works, have your socket changed.

They are available at any parts store and are cheap.

Good luck, hope you get it going.
