first it starts with the parents. if the parents would home train their children then they would give the teachers some half way control. Because the teachers cannot teach and raise someones child in 7 or 8 hours.  So Some teachers do need to resign, because first you must have the love of your job and you must have a love for the kids.  But make sure that that love does not come between the personnel line.  So every student should be treated the same way.  If someone is struggling then they should go over and help that person individually, at the same time setting a time limit you spend with that person, because that could corrupt or hender, or even halt another child's learning and potential.

If I could tell you how many times I day I hear the F-word in my high school classes you would fall over. Children today have no respect for adults or themselves. They dress like Britney Spears. They except free hand outs and for others to do their own school work.

You need to spend a day in the public schools observing in the classroom.

it takes a special person to become a teacher, let alone take on the entire education system

I think it is doing the best that it can with the limited resources. If you want to stay in school and goto college, the school system has done its job. School is not responsible for kids who want to skip school and drop out. Thats between the parent and the child. The school (in my area) has very little corruption is any. If your region is bad, call your congressman and clean it up rather than get on YAHOO.

dumb politicians and appeasement programs connected with the affirmative action philosophy. it runs against competition and merit. whether it is a law, reguluation or spefically defined, it is a quota system deemed "fairer" by the hard core believers. no matter how much they deny belief  it  quotas, it permeates the system. never doubt it. i have run that damned gauntlet for 15 years. get one of those as a superviser and you are in trouble. have no idea how to correct or even avoid it. took early retirement in disgust.
