Question:

What is wrong with the two major parties?

The man or woman sitting in the Oval Office should already be prepared to lead this nation on the international stage.

The Democrats have given us Barack Obama who has minimal experience in foreign affairs, no experience in military affairs, and no experience in an executive position, e.g., governor of a state or mayor of a major city.

The Republicans, at least, gave us John McCain who has an impressive resume. Unfortunately, they are proposing Sarah Palin for Vice-President. Ms. Palin has no experience in foreign affairs, no experience in military affairs, and, while she has been some time, albeit minimal, as governor of a sparsely populated state, she has no governmental experience on the national level, I do not believe she is not ready to take over the Presidency now. The Office of Vice-President should not be an apprenticeship. The VP should be ready from Day One to take of the Presidency. Does anyone really think she is?

That has been a roundabout way of asking "What is wrong with the two major parties?" Why can't they offer us good candidates instead of poster children?

  1. Yawn I'm so sleepy, going to rest.

  2. What wrong with the 2 parties?

Simple They both pander to a select few and s***w the guy in the middle

    McCain for President

  3. We allow ourselves to be swayed by the media which is only interested in ratings,  we allow those who are supposed to serve us, to make laws, and spend money for things THEY want, and while we complain, no one does anything about it. We passed over McCain 8 years ago when he was without doubt the most qualified candidate for President, and we got a media darling ( excuse me while I spit. ) Maybe the old saying is correct; people get the government they deserve. At this point so many of us are so sick of the status quo, we are willing to take a chance on someone who appears to be different and has new ideas.

  4. Your answer is in the question, that there are two major parties.

  5. Plenty.

It gives us no choice . Think of the choices as being foisted on the people- there are really no choices at all. Like being in a theater. You want a snack but you can only buy from the theater store who only sells popcorn and fries. YUCK !

You hate popcorn and fries. You want some all beef hot dogs or at the very least a salad

There is a word for this kind of choice but the term eludes me

    right now.

Had to come back since I remembered the term.

    Captive audience.

You came to watch the movie but you are not allowed to get out of the theater to buy the snack you want, nor bring in "outside food".

  6. History has shown us that experience isn't a major necessity when running for president.  James Buchanan has more experience in government politics than any other president in history, as a foreign diplomat, senator, governor, etc. yet he is considered one of the worst presidents in history.  Chester A. Arthur had a year as vice president on his experience resume and that was it.  No other government-related job, nothing.  Yet he proved to be a fairly effective reformer during the Gilded Age, a time in which politics came second and economic growth came first.

  7. So you're not voting this time around, huh?

McCain does not impress me at all....him and his policies reminds me of Bush--case closed. I don't like the state our country right now and you know what I'm talking about--->don't act like everything is peachy when it ain't.  Therefore, how could anyone vote for another republican?  How could I vote for "some of the same mccain"?

    I can't.

  8. i can tell whats wrong with republicans.... they voted for bush twice.

  9. Both parties have an inexperienced candidate on the ticket.  At least the Republicans didn't put that person in charge!

  10. She was picked because all the angry Hillary- supporting, feminist, pro-choice lib women gonna vote for her.

    McCain for President
