  1. They are humans that look to see what is favorable to happen that day. They are human not god.

  2. I've thought as you perhaps the prediction of weather is more difficult than what meets the eye,or weathermen are just icons of a long past era !lol.

  3. Other Jobs...

In this day and age with all those computers, books, on-line help, modern adding machines, professional trainers, steroids, laser guild rifles, instant messaging help, etc...can you tell me if you know...

How many medical doctors can cure all?

How many pro baseball players can bat 1.000 in a complete season?

Who can admit of having a perfect driving record of never breaking any traffic driving  laws every week?

Who many lawyers win every tough court cases?

How many store clerks never miss type a key in a days work?

How many league bowlers never miss a pin?

Why so many professional loan officers provided so many people with so many bad sub-prime loans?

How many soldiers can hit their enemy target all the time.

How many assembly line workers do a perfect job with each assign work task?

How many recruiters and employers always find abd hire the perfect worker.

How many cooks can perfect their cooking every night?

How many shoppers never miss the best deals?

How many parents has raised the perfect family?

How many have won the lotto every time they bought a ticket?

Yes, in this day and age, with the advancement of technology, there is no excuse to be not perfect or near perfect.  And if you are not perfect, you should not be working.

Why do you expect a weather forecaster to make a perfect every time or nearly perfect forecast every time when none of us would ever want somebody to expect us to be perfect at our jobs?   If you did look at any other jobs, I don't think you can find anybody else's who can do an error free job all or most of the time.

  4. Because we cannot control the weather, it is a randomly occurring natural phenomenon that has way too many unpredictable variables too be able to predict accurately. Even the most advanced computer modelling cannot hope to replicate the patterns of our weather.

This is a good reason why it is foolish to rely on global warming doomsayers who tell us what the weather/temperature will be in 5, 10 or more years. If their computer models cannot give an accurate forecast one day ahead, how can we believe them when they say that 30 years into the future, the temperature will rise e.g 3 degrees worldwide? Something to think about?

  5. If you give me your location, I will try to explain your meteorological phenomenon.

Many times, folks check the forecast a few days ahead of time. Forecasts do not become very precise until 24 hours out. That is why the National Weather Service issues new 24 hour terminal aerodrome forecasts every 6 hours. The weather is always changing, and the computer-generated models are always adjusting themselves. If you figure every 6 hours there may be a slight adjustment to the forecast, imagine how much of a change that would mean over a 3 day period.

I have found that often the forecast "inaccuracies" are typically a laymen's failure to check the forecast daily, combined with a general lack of understanding of how the forecast works. Forecasts are made for a region; not for Joe's back yard.

Inasmuch as the general public gets frustrated at what they believe (and sometimes are) forecast inaccuracies, this general public knows so little of weather in general that they have little argument. The forecasters still forecast significantly better than the general public can; bar none.

Again, however, I can try to explain your meteorological phenomenon for you if you give me your location, if you want.
