What is wrong with these roses an how do i fix it?

i was in my grandparents garden today and i saw that their roses have a slight greyish powder on their leaves. does anybody know what this is? how do i cure it?

  1. problably aphids...you need to spray them daily or just get rid of them and get new ones!!


  2. Yes, it is powdery mildew. There is a systemic rose food/insect/disease control formula you can buy at Home Depot. It comes in pellet form and you sprinkle and work it into the soil around the roses.

    Also, just cut off all the mildew areas as it will transfer onto other new growth. (roses grow very fast so they will come back soon!)

    I have found that Volck Rose Oil also helps prevent black spot, rust and powdery mildew.

    Note: those little miniature rose bushes people give as gifts - put them in the garden! They are gorgeous and stay "miniature" but get nice and full!

  3. Powdery Mildew is what that is called. Clean up all the effected leaves and don't water at night
