What is wrong with this answer ?

Question

A question was asked by a member who has been repeatedly corrected and reported for insulting people who ask non hunting gun questions in the hunting section, which she knows is how YA has set up the forum

The question was basically the old and tired and whiny

"Why can't YA set up different sections within a shooting sports section"?

My answer was

I mean seriously why can't you just accept that there is not I have seen you personally berate people here for asking non hunting gun questions Why can't you just get over the fact that they have to list them here and not treat them like **** for doing so instead of making childish comments to try to make THEM feel stupid for not having a target section to ask in

It was reported by the asker because she got her feeling hurt with the truth and deleted as not a question or an answer

In the first place I see at least one question in there

And it was the answer to her question

Answering a question with a question can and is sometimes considered an answer

In this case it certainly would be

What confuses me is why the little non contributing trolls are allowed to answer a best gun question with "ew guns are bad" and why this particular poster is allowed to insult others for doing what YA forces them to do but others get called for pointing this out

it's considered a Rant by others so is not acceptable / simple enough, just report the trolls or ignore them. also simple enough.

G'Day mate ive been reported 2 time by animals liberation  for putting hunting pictures and asking hunters what they thought of my catches.This site is for hunters and shooters.I know not every shooter doesn't go hunting but i put a warning on it not to go in it might offend some people.But the animal liberation will go in it and then report me.Let's say if yr not into p**n would you clink on a link that it say p**n inside it,no you wouldn't.Y do these people do it,and i think i know y because they are trying to stop hunter and shooter's having a voice because the more we talk about it more animals will die.The rest of the people eat meat and still have a go at hunter's they contradict them selves.We the hunters/shooters will not tolerate there abuse and we say sometimes nasty thing to them.The best thing for us to do is give them the thumbs down not say anything to bad to them so we don't get reported.Basically let just ignore them.It's twice i've been reported by those plant killing people,and the contradiction people and they say like"those poor animal's you are so cruel"and half of them eat meat and where cattle skin shoes.Anyway i said my bit about people reporting others for nothing and where they shouldn't go if it's not there interests.cheers mate

I'm a bit worried this is going to sound a little holier-than-thou because none of us are perfect about our responses (and in a normal message board environment it wouldn't really matter because there's a built in allowance for people having a bad day which Yahoo Answers structure seems to lack), but I can't really think of any other way to phrase it. Bear with me, I'm not attacking you, simply trying to answer your question in a way so you understand what happened, why, and how to avoid it happening again because none of us want to see you get in trouble with the staff here.

I'm guessing the simplest answer is because your comments were a rant. You answered the question, but you also attacked/insulted/berated the asker. For what its worth, and its worth what you paid for it, I've noticed before that sometimes you berate/insult people in some of your answers to questions, such as the one in the assault weapons ban question the other day. Normally it simply draws a thumbs down or costs you best answer. This time you were unlucky. I'd guess you were reported because either the person was a troll, and you gave him exactly what he wanted (an excuse to give someone who answers on hunting a black eye); or because the asker genuinely found your commit to be offensive. Either way the solution is simply to dial back the rhetoric a bit, be temperate in your response, and simply answer the question asked.

As for the asker of that question... If he (and its almost certainly a he because trolls are almost always male) is berating/insulting others, you should either simply report him when it happens and let someone higher up the food chain deal with him, or give the thumbs down.

As for the little trolls who do the "ew guns are bad" routine again, the solution is to not feed the trolls. Just report them and then give the best answer to the question you know how to give.

Trolls will troll. Don't take it personally.

If they still let you challenge the deletion, do that. I was successful with that once a while back which probably annoyed the person who reported to no end. I would avoid making a big fuss over it though. It lets 'em know they got to you and re-enforces their trollish behavior.

Whether we realize it or not, whenever we answer questions here in the YA Hunting community, WE ARE ACTING AS REPRESENTATIVES TO THE GREATER SHOOTING / HUNTING COMMUNITY.

As such, we have an obligation to show the highest standard of professionalism, responsibility, and safety.

If we do not, we only hurt ourselves by giving the anti-gun community "ammo" to use against us to take away our rights.

Vangion has consistently acted in a professional manner in representing the shooting / hunting community, and he gives good, safe, and responsible advice.

Vangion did the responsible thing in addressing this individual.  However, we must be careful, at all times, in our choice of words as it is a reflection upon ourselves and the greater shooting / hunting community as a whole.

I guess because they have no sense of fairness, or choose to discriminate against some of us on here at one time or another.* There are many times they do not use good judgment in exercising their authority.* Some people have eyes, but they choose not to see.*

Don't sweat it. Trolls are just that. Ugly, mean spirited little buggers that live in dark places and who's life consists of little more than looking for ways to make others as miserable as they are.

#2 What does THIS question have to do with hunting?

#3 Trolls are what they are...arguing about it wont change the facts, report them and move on.

#4 Isn't what you are currently doing kind of the same thing you are ranting about?
