people can say "save the children from starving" but then other contries do nothing. i went to a restaurant and and i saw these noodles in glass vase put up on a shelf for decoration that they can use for food but instead they just sit there and in school kids throw away perfectly fine food that they dont want.

  1. Wow!  There's a question.  I feel your frustration, so here is my take on the world.  In our country we are very lucky.  We have great natural resources and have been the leading consumer country in the world throughout our existence.  Sometimes this has come at the expense of other countries.  For example, we feed our cows enough corn to virtually eliminate starvation across the globe; yet our cows get it because we think we need more marbled fat in our beef.  We use more water, electricity, gas, and other kinds of fuels at a rate 3 to 15 times higher than other countries, including Western Europe.  Mostly this is due to our costs for these things being way less than what it costs in other places.  So it's understandable that Americans in particular take things for granted.  This is how we've always lived; we don't know anything else.  Unless you see starvation and poverty staring you in the face every day, it's easy to give the problem lip service and think you've done enough.  My best suggestion is to do what you can as an individual and try to motivate others to help.  For example, if you're a student or a teacher, organize a project at your campus to collect money or food for a food bank or to send to Save The Children or UNICEF.  It sometimes helps to keep your aid local, so everyone sees a payback in your immediate community. If you don't have a campus connection, do what you can.  Volunteer in a local organization.  Send money to a good charity.  Make careful choices yourself-- don't waste resources here, support organizations helping the cause when you can.  One person can't do it alone, but remember, there are lots of us out here doing what we can, too.  Together we CAN make a difference!  Good Luck and thanks for asking such a thought- provoking question!

  2. you must be very young, your question is too vague...school children saving lunches?? come on now.

  3. how do you know what other countries do - do you really think your country is the only one worried about children?

People all over the world worry about children starving - and most of us do what we can.

  4. I dont have any idea what you are talking about.

  5. nothing.

  6. im not sure what wrong w/ other contries. i think it is so sad tht the usa always has to be like the only ones helping other contries anfd look at ourselves our on country isn't even top notch we already have enough problems but still we try to pick up the slack some where else. and you notice how every time those save the children from starving campaigns it all seems kind half *** cause there are so many ppl tht in the end just don't give a hoot & nothing is rly tooken seriously.

  7. Horse lover.. you have no idea what you say.  In my country is kids dying and they are more important than a stupid horse.. how dare you?

  8. people are wrong what's wrong this this world. no matter how "good" a person is, they somehow contribute to the world's destruction.

people are starving in other countries and its sad, but no one ever thinks of other life on this planet and how other species are dying due to human selfishness. the fact of the matter is, problems created by humans have been developing for centuries. so we have centuries of damage to clean up and make right. many talk and only a select few act.

imagine one person being responsible for cleaning each room in house made a mess each day by ten residents. thats what its like in fixing this world on much bigger scale. possible, but very, very time consuming. its gonna take more than one generation, and sadly we seem to be growing down....

  9. yeahh..what is wrong with this world???

but me and my friends are doing this thing; you know how muslims fast. well we do that kinda and see what it is to be like a child who can only eat 1 meal a day!

  10. Yea thats aweful I don't get it either =( But you know this is a message for all that I learned in World History : Be the change you want to see in the world =)

  11. You can add to your list... OVEREATING... We do it ever day here in this country. Thats why we are so overweight.

Food has become the center of our lives here... its a sad thing
