  1. I am a firm believer in two theories:

    1) Learning through play-it's fun, its stimulating, its one of the chidlren rights (UN convention on Rights of the Child), it engages them and its what your chidlren shouleb e doing!

    2) Socio-cultural: Children learn from the world around them: the media-tv, magazines, adverts, family-parents, sisters/brothers, friends, neighbours....and most importnant in my line of work-teachers/early years workers...children assimilate what they see around them and expect this as the norm...teach children positive 'norms' and that is how they will react and learn. Eg: Child's parents shout constantly even when not argueing and child is surrounded by noise then that child will except that this is normal and they too may shout a lot and be a bit difficult at quiet times at preschool. It then takes understanding of the teacher to give appropriate experiences at preschool that dont take away from his sense of identity!

  2. ava i dont think the kids suppost to know mastubation here. but my philosophy as a child was. look out ur parents are out to s***w you

  3. Early childhood is a time of firsts and exploration. Give your child the chance to experience his/the world around him with positive influences and feedback and he/she will  grow to be a happy and well adjusted child.  Both parents figure equally into this equation.  A male influence sees the environment a little differently than a female.  Both are necessary.  I also don't believe that young children need preschool.  You can provide a stimulating environment at home when you give of your time.  I didnt send either one of my sons to preschool until 4yrs old and that was only for the socializing aspect of it in preparation for kindergarten.  I have dearly loved and cherised the time w/ my sons and cherish it as it comes.  I so look forward to Summer break when we have the whole summer to relax and play and hang.

  4. My philosophy is to expose the child to as many happy, stimulating and nurturing experiences as possible. It is essential for the physical, mental and emotional growth of the child.

  5. my philosophy of early childhood education is that happy children learn best. it has been my experience through internships and as a teach. asst. at a preschool that children learn best when they dont realize they are learning, but learn better and more if they think they are playing. but thats just me, other people believe in the drilling facts and memorization style of teaching.
