  1. I thought I knew art untill Christo started draping canyons and Andy glued his first Campbell's Soup Can on a wall hanging.  I saw the latter at MOMA in The City a few years ago (Or was it some other museum?).

Anyway, if that stuff is art what is the Mona Lisa?  Rodin's The Thinker, etc.?

Art, like beauty, being in the eyes of the beholder, I guess.

  2. Exploring art is a way to open my mind and broaden my understanding.

  3. I feel that art helps to connect you to your soul, and to Source. If it is "real" art it is felt in the heart, and that's what sparks those connections.

Especially in these days of unusual levels of corruption, violence  and greed, art helps to keep you in touch with what is truly important in a human life. And what stands between civility and total barbarism  :))

  4. I have been developing my art appreciation for some time now.  At one time I didn't really care much for "modern" art, espec. the early "surreal/dada" pieces or 1950's modern.  I preferred at that time more traditional stuff.  Now I really enjoy surreal art b/c its like being in a dream, and I understand the Dadaists better.

I often go to art galleries and check for myself different ppl's version of art and try to keep an open mind about it.
