i love it india, but i am not going to say it is a great place to be. been robbed in mysore, and that was by the room boys, laid a test for the next place i visited, sure enough, my luggage was searched/ looked through. got no satisfaction off hotel managment and even the police are corrupt so they were of no help. but by now, after my 12+ visit, most times has a long stay tourist, 2 month's or more. i have got used to the place. the people are, in general nice people, in fact lovely people. it's just the poverty of the country. no welfare state. so they live by their wits. we think were savvy in the west. no way, indian's could buy and sell yer. but i love it.. india has the most richest people in the world and also the poorest, but what strikes me most about india is? that even the very poor people are happy with their lot. wish i could adopt 10 kids from the ghetto/shanty towns or those boys who spend all day on the trains selling their wares, and give them a life, but that is their life, they know no better. so who am to judge?. But i will always come back to india, such a diverse country and culture, most people only go to goa/kerela. to travel through india and see the hill stations, jungles, waterfalls and the lush green countryside, what a beautiful country india is.

never been there..but my cousins friend is Indian and she made the best curry and rotsi(goin on by how it sounds)

I went to India in October.  I have a 10 year visa and long to go back every time I think about it.  Before I went, I had a lot of opinions or thoughts about India. I honestly didn't want to go, but I went because it was something I had to do. (Different story altogether.)

The moment I stepped out of the plane into the airport, I was hit with a pungent smell that made me cringe a bit at first.  It was 3 oclock in the morning and being shoved aside while awaiting your luggage was quite a treat! Yet, as we made are way from Bangalore to Mysore along the countryside, the sun began to make its appearance and allow you views of the small villages and people, mostly men, making their way to their jobs.  Walking on foot most of them.

India was absolutely amazing.  By the time my 2 weeks was up, I fell in love with that country.  So many people. So little space.  But it was quite an experience.  One, I will never forget.  Even now, I can smell the smells of India.  I can hear certain sounds.  My tongue still gets an itching for Indian food.  At least once a day. It will be something that I never forget as I also miss it very much so.
