What is your Waste hierarcy opinion?

What is your opinion of best options to worst options?

This is mine so far:

Prevention

Reuse

Remanufacture

Compost

Recycle

Buy recycled

Energy from organic waste by anaerobic digestion

Dispose of product in landfill

Energy from waste by incineration

Reduce

Reuse

Recycle

and I apply it to everything from clothes, packaging, food, to furniture and energy.

Also use Freecycle to give away anything you can't use but has life left in it, and keep it out of landfill.

How about the manufacturing and packaging companies stop using so much unnecessary plastic packaging instead of putting the onus on end users? I'm assuming you know we're running out of landfill space and no-one wants to live anywhere near incinerators? Industry is responsible for far more pollution  and waste than domestic households or individuals. Whilst I don't dispute we are polluting the planet, all this climate change scaremongering (which has spawned a huge multi billion £ industry) is exaggerating normal cyclical climactic changes.

The best way to reduce the waste Hierarchy, is to impose term limits in Congress.
