Billy Elliot the Musical is a pretty good show. Right now, it's only in England (and maybe Australia, I've heard, but I can't be for sure), but in October it is coming to Broadway.

I HIGHLY suggest seeing it if you have the chance to. You really won't regret it.

I LOVE Phantom of the Opera.  Rent was pretty good and a really fun show.  I am also a big fan of "Once More with Feeling" - the Buffy the Vampire Slayer musical episode, but that is because I am a Buffy nerd....

I'm not a big musical theatre person, but 'Guys & Dolls' has always been my favourite musical.  It's just a fun, classic show.  I love the music, I love the characters, and I love the setting.   In fact, I'm a huge fan of the original Damon Runyon stories, and that whole era in general (I'm a swing dancer, so I love anything 1920's-40's).  My grandmother was a Broadway costume designer around that time; she also loves the show, and has told me many stories about working on B'way during WWII.

Plus, I recently found out that another relative of mine worked for Frank Loesser (the composer).  I thought that was pretty cool. ;-)

i love the wizard of oz even more because of wicked..makes me want to go back and watch the wizard of oz to look at it differently...other loves of mine  - parade, 25th annual putnam county spelling bee, rent, miss saigon, chicago, the producers, sweeney todd..yeah its hard to pick...but 'WICKED!' for sureeeee

Sound of Music would be my all-time favorite.  I do love sooooooooooooooooo many others though!!
